Horch Kfz. 17/1 Funkkraftwagen
The Funkkraftwagen (Kfz. 17/1) was an enclosed radio vehicle of the Wehrmacht, built on the four-wheel-drive Horch 901 Einheits-Pkw chassis. It emerged in the mid-1930s as a sub-variant of the Kfz. 17, specifically equipped for VHF (ultra-short wave) communications. Externally recognisable by its smooth box body with just a single rod antenna on the left side — in contrast to the distinctive roof frame antenna of the Kfz. 17. Crewed by three men and weighing 3.6 tonnes, it was one of the smallest enclosed signals vehicles at the front.
