This Easter and May holiday, visit the largest war museum in the Netherlands and experience World War II up close. Wander past more than 150 military vehicles and artillery pieces, discover impressive (new) exhibitions, and take a break in our cozy museum café or playground. From april 18 to May 5, the museum is buzzing with a full program for young and old alike. You are very welcome!
Highlights this holiday:
● Open Car Park
Climb into a selection of our military vehicles! Step into the YP, M5 High-Speed Tractor (KingKong), Nekaf Jeep, or Weasel. Climb on top of two iconic tanks: the T34-85 and the Sherman Cookie. Or take a seat behind the wheel of the Centurion tank. New this holiday: the Barc is open for viewing from the inside - a unique chance to step into this enormous amphibious vehicle.
*Every Tuesday and Thursday & especially on Monday, May 5.
● Mini Open Car Park
Visit the rear part of the Car Park and hop into the Centurion tank, Nekaf Jeep or Weasel for a unique photo opportunity.

● Frontline Talks - Ask a Veteran Anything
Talk to a veteran and hear short, real-life stories based on personal objects. Try on a flak vest or helmet and feel how heavy the gear really is. How many push-ups can you do wearing it?

● Weapon Days
Did you know the museum has an enormous weapon collection? During the Weapon Days, our firearms team will tell you everything about the weapons used during WWII. Can you recognize them without expert help?

● D-DEX - Experience the invasion of Normandy
D-DEX is an immersive 4D experience about the invasion of Normandy. Follow the footsteps of the American soldiers who landed on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. With video, sound, realistic sets, special effects and authentic objects, this is a true must-see!
● Free Guided Tours
Our expert guides take you on a one-hour tour of World War II history at 1:00 PM every day. Suitable for all ages- guides adapt to the group.
● Museum Café De Vrijheid
Our café is open daily. Enjoy a fresh cup of coffee with a sandwich or classic Dutch lunch. There's no need to bring your own food - the menu is full of delicious options. You can return to the museum after your break!

● Be amazed by the interactive exhibition ''The Netherlands during World War II'', featuring eight eyewitness stories. What would you do: collaborate or resist?
● Visit the massive military hall with over 150 vehicles, including the Horsa Glider and the Battle of Overloon collection.
● Arriving by bike? Get a first look from the bicycle bridge running through the museum and continue your ride through the park over a real Bailey bridge.
● View the impressive Lancaster Pavilion and the exhibition The Bombing War.
